While looking on the web I saw this hilarious cat door stop. I thought it was really clever idea and I started to wonder about who invented the door stop. Although humans have been using door stop since the creation of the door, it wasn't until Dec 10, 1878 that anyone received a patent for it. Whom you may ask received the patent? It was a man by the name of O.Dorsey. This African American inventor not only developed the doorstop but he also invented the doorknob.

As the leaves change and the crops are harvested our thoughts turn to the many blessings for which we are thankful. It is with that in mind that we share some of our favorite autumn and Thanksgiving themed doors. In honor of this wonderful holiday, we have made a list of our favorite fall and thanksgiving doors. To keep with the thanksgiving tradition, here are some things we at US Door and More Inc. are thankful for: fall decorations, Pinterest, door shoppers, and food!

Decorate your door to attract those little ghosts and goblins, pirates and princesses to your door for their loot. In tribute to this spooky and fun holiday we have made a list of our favorite Halloween decorated doors. Our first door is our favorite door. This door screams Halloween. The skulls and the beware sign are perfect for this holiday.

Our latest project was located in the Tampa Bayside region, snuggled away in the beautiful homes of Gulf view. Gulf view neighborhood surrounds the Palma Ceia Golf and Country Club where homes were built in the early 1920’s.

This particular home had an older wooden door style with a large transom. The owners wanted to remove the wooden doors and transom  and replace them with a larger door that had a more modern appearance that would complete the look of their home.The new custom door that was added in place of the old exterior door and transom is a wooden double door. This door is hurricane proof, with a Brazilian Mahogany finish and an inswing threshold.
